Shimadzu-PIPAC Strategic Partnership - MoU Signing | Shimadzu

The Philippine Institute of Pure and Applied Chemistry (PIPAC) has officially become a valued collaborator for Shimadzu’s World Lab Network through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 11 July at the Grand Hyatt Manila. Titled “Strengthening Monitoring Capabilities For Food and Environmental Contaminants”, this partnership signifies a major step forward in enhancing monitoring capabilities for food and environmental contaminants. ​

The signing ceremony was graced by distinguished delegates from both parties with main signatories: Mr. Prem Anand, Managing Director of Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd, Mr. Rudolf Wong, President of Shimadzu Philippines Corporation and Dr. Armando Victor Jr. Guidote, Institute Director of PIPAC. The signing was witnessed by​
Mr. Yasunori Yamamoto, President & CEO of Shimadzu Corporation, Mr. Angelito Coo, Corporate Adviser of Shimadzu Philippines Corporation, Dr. Raphael A. Guerrero, Member of Board of Trustees of PIPAC and Ms. Thelma Jane Parreñas, Head of Operations & Laboratory Manager of PIPAC. ​

This collaboration aims to enhance the region's capabilities in ensuring food safety and environmental protection, underscoring both organizations' dedication to Contributing to Society Through Science and Technology.

Shimadzu’s enduring partnership with PIPAC dates back to 1982, when Shimadzu instruments were first delivered to PIPAC, with various general laboratory equipment coming from JICA. Shimadzu is honoured to support PIPAC as a Solutions Provider, through the technical services provided by Instrumix Supplier Inc (ISI), which later became Shimadzu Philippines Corporation.​

For over 40 years, Shimadzu has proudly supported PIPAC as a Solutions Provider, fostering mutual growth and collaboration. This underscores our commitment to advancing scientific excellence and providing ongoing support, as we continue to innovate and achieve collaborative success together.
