Shimadzu 3rd Global Food Summit 2022

Towards Food Sustainability for the Future

The global food landscape has been evolving over the years, especially in areas such as plant-based meat and artificial proteins. In fact, the global food industry is poised for a Food Revolution as we face these disruptive trends. Today, the alternative protein market is valued at USD 60.45 billion with compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to be 18.5% by 2028.

On 1st November 2022, Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) hosted its first grand event after the COVID-19 pandemic, Shimadzu 3rd Global Food Summit, at the iconic Marina Bay Sands (MBS) Convention Centre in Singapore, in conjunction with the 21st IUFoST World Congress of Food Science & Technology.

The Launch of Shimadzu's World Lab Network

The grand event was first kickstarted by the launch of Shimadzu's World Lab Network that aims to unite the technological capabilities of Shimadzu's collaborative laboratories worldwide and accelerate Food Sustainability, which is the theme of Shimadzu 3rd Global Food Summit 2022.

The World Lab Network is headquartered at Tokyo Innovation Plaza, a new hub recently opened by Shimadzu to create revolutionary solutions in Life Science, Material Science, Optics Science, and Green Science.

A total of 6 Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) were present to be part of the Shimadzu “Food Sustainability World Lab Network” Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony. This includes Singapore Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Characterization and Testing Service Center, Brawijaya University, and Osaka University.

The successful launch of Shimadzu's World Lab Network was witnessed by over 1,200 participants. With this, Shimadzu hopes to intensify the delivery of our shared values to the world.
