SMARTLab: Realization Of Smart Nation With Digitalized Laboratory In Singapore​

On December 9, 2021, Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) and Singapore Polytechnic renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further advance the SMARTLab initiative (Scalable, Manageable, Automated, Regulated, and Total-Compliant Laboratory).​

Since the initial MoU in 2018, SAP and Singapore Polytechnic have collaborated on training programs at SMARTLab, utilizing cutting-edge analytical technologies. The renewed partnership, extending for an additional three years, aims to drive progress toward a more digitalized future aligned with Industry 4.0.​

SMARTLab, equipped with the latest analytical instruments and advanced digital technologies, enhances the learning experiences of Singapore Polytechnic students, equipping them with the skills needed to create innovative solutions for Industry 4.0. This initiative supports Singapore’s transformation into a digital economy by promoting the wider adoption of digital capabilities among enterprises and households.​

Safeguarding Food Sustainability

Shimadzu 3rd Global Food Summit

The Shimadzu 3rd Global Food Summit marked a significant step forward in promoting Food Sustainability with the launch of Shimadzu's World Lab Network. This initiative aims to unite the technological capabilities of Shimadzu's collaborative laboratories worldwide to accelerate advancements in global innovations.

A total of 6 Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) were present for the signing of “Food Sustainability World Lab Network” Memorandum of Understanding. This distinguished group included representatives from Singapore Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the Characterization and Testing Service Center, Brawijaya University, and Osaka University.

Held in conjunction with 21st IUFoST World Congress of Food Science & Technology, the event attracted over 1,200 attendees, underscoring the global interest and commitment to food sustainability.
